Benfica goes for Diego Costa

According to the digital media Goal, the Spanish-Brazilian sees his signing by the Portuguese club as feasible, which is willing to offer him a net salary of three million euros per season.

Diego Costa is seriously considering the possibility of playing for Benfica. According to the digital medium Goal, the Portuguese club is willing to offer the Spanish-Brazilian a transfer bonus of three million euros and a net salary of three million euros per season. Costa amicably disassociated himself from Atlético de Madrid at the end of December, as for family reasons he decided to return to his native Brazil.

Since then, little has been known about a striker who reached the peak of his career at Atlético de Madrid, a springboard that helped him land at José Mourinho's Chelsea in the 14-15 campaign. After four years in London, he returned to the mattress club. However, at the end of December he finally said goodbye and left behind a brilliant resume with Atlético: 215 games played (83 goals and 36 assists) and the league titles (2013-14), a Copa del Rey (2013), a Europa League (2018) and two European Super Cups (2010 and 2018) .

Back in Brazil and without a team, Costa has kept his physical tone. In January, he uploaded some snapshots on social media at the Lagarto FC sports center as rumors multiplied about clubs interested in him. Wolverhampton followed in his footsteps, but Costa also offered himself to Olympique de Marseille, who appreciated his predisposition but decided not to incorporate him. Now, Benfica seeks to give a new dimension to its forward and the ideal candidate is the Hispano-Brazilian. It seems that Costa is close to returning to the Portuguese league, where he played for Braga and Penafiel.
