Andy Soucek to contest the GT Open with Porsche

The Spaniard joins the Lechner Racing team, with Al Faisal Al Zubair as a partner.

The Madrid driver Andy Soucek will compete this year for the full GT Open season, at the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 R of the Austrian team Lechner Racing. His teammate, with whom he shares a car, will be the young driver (22 years old) Al Faisal Al Zubair, Omani champion of the German brand's contest in the Middle East.

Soucek (35 years old) will bring all his experience to this ambitious project, seeking the best possible results in what is considered one of the most prestigious GT competitions in the world. In addition, the Austrian roots of the driver are an added motivation, as well as returning to the environment of the organization with which he was proclaimed national champion of Formula 3 in 2005.

The Spaniard has been very happy before a new challenge in his already long sporting career, with a record that includes the Formula 2 title in 2009: “Racing for Lechner Racing makes me very excited and a dream of racing for a Austrian team that I have great admiration for. I think we have a very powerful team and I will try to get the most out of my experience in GT3 and contribute the most to the team. ”
