Valverde will lead Movistar in the Emirates in Mühlberger's debut

The Murcian will be the main asset of the Spanish team in the first round of the UCI World Tour this season and where one of the signings for this year will debut.


The Movistar team has unveiled its list of seven riders this Tuesday who will compete on the UAE Tour (February 21-27) in the first round of the UCI World Tour of the 2021 season.

In this list appears as team leader Alejandro Valverde. The Murcian, who already won the general of the event in 2018 and has two stage victories in the race, both on top of Jebel Hafeet, will be the great asset of the team to contest the general classification.

On the UAE Tour we will also see in action another of the Movistar team signings for this season, the Austrian Gregor Mühlberger, who will make his debut in official competition with the telephone squad and who will try to help Valverde in the Jebel Hafeet and Jebel days Jais, where the general is predictably decided.

Along with Valverde and Mühlberger, the Spanish Albert Torres, Íñigo Elosegui, Antonio Pedrero and Héctor Carretero and the Italian Davide Villella complete the Movistar list for the UAE Tour.
