Valverde and Cortina will start their season in Almería

The veteran Murcian cyclist and the brand new Movistar signing will start this Sunday at the Almería Classic in what will be his first race in 2021.

Alejandro Valverde, 2018 World Champion and Iván García Cortina, will debut the 2021 season next Sunday on the occasion of the 36th edition of the Almería Classic, a traditional appointment for sprinters.

The activity for Movistar begins, since this week it will be present in the Tour de Provence from Thursday to Sunday with Enric Mas as leader of the ranks and will close on Sunday in Almería, with the debut of García Cortina with the squad's jersey phone.

The telephone squad, led by Chente García Acosta, will be completed with classic men: Gabriel Cullaigh, Johan Jacobs, Mathias Norsgaard, Juri Hollmann, and another Movistar Team novelty for this year, Gonzalo Serrano from Madrid.

The classic Almeria Almería will be held over a 183 km route, between Puebla de Vícar and Roquetas de Mar, with four scoring highs and a final suitable for sprinters.
