The Giro d'Italia will reveal its route this Wednesday

The route of the 104th edition of the Giro d'Italia that will be held between May 8 and 30 will be unveiled next Wednesday, February 24, in an event that will take place without public at the Rai studios in Corso Sempione, Milan.

The route of the 21 stages will be announced in a press release with all the technical details. In the line of protecting the event in the context of the health pandemic, the opinions of the various protagonists of the race will be announced through a second statement.

However, the Giro has already announced some details of its route. The start will take place on May 8 in the Piedmont region with a 9-kilometer time trial starting and finishing in Turin. The second stage will take the peloton from Stupinigi to Novara through 172 kilometers, and on day 10 the 187 kilometer journey between Biella and Canale. The next edition of the Giro will feature the 19 World Tour teams, the Belgian Alpecin as the best Proteam 2020 formation and the guests Vini Zabù, Bardiani and Eolo Kometa. The organization did not invite the Italian Androni or the Arkéa Samsic of the Colombian Nairo Quintana.
