The Canarias changes its sponsorship and name: Lenovo Tenerife

The aurinegro team has been successfully hand in hand with Iberostar until today, the date on which the name change becomes effective. Lenovo arrives.

The CB Canarias announced this Monday its new project for which it is renamed Lenovo Tenerife for the remainder of the season and the entire following, as the technology company became the club's main sponsor.

The tourist chain that until now gave the team its name, Iberostar, will continue to support the club, but not as its first patron.

In a digital meeting with the media, the president of the aurinegra entity Félix Hernández, the player Gio Shermadini and the general director in Spain and Portugal of Lenovo, Alberto Ruano, showed their satisfaction with the agreement.

"At the sporting level, we talk about the fact that signings, injuries, victories or defeats are news, but when you are a sports manager, the only essential thing is support," Hernández declared. "It has been a long process and in the end it has come to fruition, it is important for the club and for the profile of the company to which we are going to join because it represents values of modernity and technology", insisted the Canarian president who considers that he has "a new era" has begun.

For his part, Ruano commented that this is "a milestone for the professional life of the company", since the company's pending task was to join the sport with the aim of growing as a brand and improving its contribution to society.

The pandemic has brought significant economic benefits to the technology sector and that is why, since the summer, Lenovo had the intention of supporting such an initiative.

The agreement implies that the first template bears the name of the company and several advertising spaces such as LED billboards, but also the provision of digital devices that make the Canarian entity improve in this key aspect.
