The Caja Rural affiliate celebrates 30 years of training

Throughout this time, Subsidiary Caja Rural-Seguros RGA has served as a springboard to the professional field for a list of 114 runners.

Although the races began at the beginning of the month with the first races of Essor Basque in France, the Caja Rural-Seguros RGA subsidiary group presented this Friday its 30th consecutive project in the category since its return to the elite field and Sub-23 in 1992. Three decades in which the commitment to the training and development of young talents has been maintained as a fundamental pillar of the structure.

During the event held at the Navarra Arena in Pamplona, the list of twenty-three cyclists who make up the 2021 squad was reviewed, including four elite and nineteen Under-23s, six of them debutants in the category. Like every season, the major sporting objectives will be set in the Spanish Cup and in stage events such as Vuelta a Navarra, Bidasoa Itzulia or other stage races on the national calendar. Internationally, the challenge is to repeat the good role completed last year in the debut in the Giro Under 23.

Throughout this time, Subsidiary Caja Rural-Seguros RGA has served as a springboard to the professional field for a long list of runners. The numbers speak for themselves. 114 cyclists have reached professionalism after passing through the elite team and Under-23, 35 of them until the top box of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA. In addition, 45 of these young people trained in the branch have reached the World Tour category.With respect to last season, seven cyclists from the 2020 squad compete this year in different professional categories, highlighting the jump of Josu Etxeberria and Jokin Murguialday to the first team of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA.
