The Barça assures the Classical

The Catalans prevailed in a duel marked by errors at the beginning and a late reaction from Baskonia at the end. There will be Classic in the Cup.

Barça will be in the final against Real Madrid after a semifinal against Baskonia that was presumed placid, but which was complicated in the last quarter. Ivanovic's men came out well in the game, but little by little they were losing steam before the success and the defense of Barça. An overwhelming dominance of the rebound and the participation of the Barça stars (Higgins, Mirotic and Abrines) took the lead to 20 points before breaking water in the fourth quarter. A brilliant partial from Baskonia (2-16) came to place them within six points, but Barça held the onslaught.

Henry disguised himself as Brizuela in the first minutes in which Barça feared reliving the nightmare that he lived in the quarterfinals against Unicaja: easy baskets, a lot of prominence from the rival base and too many losses. The difference with Friday was that Barça, in attack, did hit the mark. Mirotic supported his team with the first points until Kuric put the Catalans ahead (13-12) .

In fact, the scoring festival for both of them ended there, as Barça hardened their defense a lot. They improved that aspect with Bolmaro on the track, nailing Baskonia in the 12 points, being those of Vitoria unable to score in static during the rest of the quarter (15-12). The control of the rebound, of the Barça, finished decanting the balance of the Barcelona side. He caught them up to Kuric.

With an absolutely leading Henry in attack (12 shots in 15 minutes), Baskonia suffered a lot to score. Bolmaro covered him well, and the teammates did not help: Ivanovic's were too static. A triple by Abrines, at 5 for the break, opened the lead to seven points (24-17). Two triples by Mirotic and another by Higgins (the three in a row) increased it to 10. Baskonia's triples, with Polonara as the protagonist, did not enter. At rest, 38-27.

He started the third quarter with a 6-0 run that could lead to the clash for Barça, but two 3-pointers from Baskonia, one with an additional free kick, brought the distance back to 10 points (44-34). The Baskonia defense recovered three balls in a row (two were lost by Mirotic) but they continued without being successful in the outside shot (3 of 14 in triples). Barça, who was able to run, continued to open the gap on the scoreboard (52-35) .

The Catalans, despite dominating the rebound, continued without breaking the game and a 0-5 run brought Baskonia closer. But Abrines, very successful, and Higgins with house-brand penetrations closed the penultimate round with the maximum difference for Barça (64-47) .

Baskonia came to reduce the distance to 9 points, forcing Jasikevicius to give entry to Mirotic and Calathes to ensure the match, after a partial of 2-13. It didn't work, Vildoza scored by three and Barça stopped the game with 69-63 on the scoreboard with just under five minutes to go. Jekiri's contribution, especially in defense, was key in the comeback. Barça, nailed to 69 points, threw almost all the advantage they had gained during the match overboard. However, the income earned was sufficient.

Baskonia entered the last minute with few options in the match (75-66) largely because Barça's heavyweights did not fail from the free kick. Westermann finished the clash with a key basket, which raised Barça's score to the final 77-68.
