Podoroska falls in Australia

Argentina said goodbye to the Australian Open after falling in the second round against Croatian Dona Vekic (28) by a resounding double 6-2.


Nadia Podoroska was out of the race at the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the season, after losing in straight sets to Croatian Donna Vekic.

The tennis player from Rosario, 45 in the world ranking, finished her first participation in Melbourne in the second round, by losing against the European tennis player, 33 of the WTA ranks, with partial 6-2 and 6-2, in an exact hour of game.

In the doubles draw, luck was not with Podoroska either. Along with the Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the Argentine tennis player lost in the first phase 6-0, 5-7 and 6-2, against the Croatian Darija Jurak and the Serbian Nina Stojanovic.

The Australian Open is played on a concrete surface and distributes around $ 25 million in prizes.
