Pau Gasol calls for calm after the announcement of his signing for Barcelona. The news, advanced by Mundo Deportivo this afternoon, placed the Spanish basketball legend back at the Barça club 20 years later. The power forward, who has not played since March 2019 (almost two years), returns to the courts with a contract until the end of the season that will allow him to shoot for his great goal, the Tokyo Olympics. However, the Sant Boi has wanted to maintain the suspense with a cryptic message on social networks in which he assures that he continues with his recovery and that he is not yet ready to return to the slopes. In the same way, he informs that the moment he has something to announce, he will do it personally through his social networks. The message, made public on Twitter, has been posted in Spanish and English, as is customary in Catalan.

After a career that includes numerous successes, Pau Gasol is unanimously considered the best Spanish basketball player in history and one of the most outstanding on the European continent. With an experience of almost two decades in the NBA (19 season, although in the last one with the Blazers he did not make his debut), he has two champion rings with the Los Angeles Lakers and several individual distinctions, among which the Rookie of the Year and six participations in the All Star. With Spain, he has been silver in the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic Games, in addition to winning bronze in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. On the first two occasions he lost the final against the United States, while in the last, the same selection eliminated them in the semifinals. Pau seeks, in Tokyo, his fifth participation in the Olympic event and the finishing touch to a legendary career.
