The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya reforms its Turn 10, one of its most iconic, to leave a common path for F1 and MotoGP.

You may have missed some dates that had been very important for the circuit in recent years, those of the Formula 1 preseason tests that will take place in Bahrain in 2021 (from March 12 to 14), but the main thing is that the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya maintains its place in the calendars of the two most important motor world championships, the single-seater (May 9) and the MotoGP (June 6). And it will be presented to these two appointments, and to the rest of other categories, with an important novelty in Curve 10, one of the most representative.

That curve is the one that leads into the iconic area of the stadium where many fans always gather and which brings back such good memories (there used to gather a large part of the blue tide in support of Alonso), it is different. After three weeks of work, a single line has been left instead of the two previously, the one used by F1 (tighter and with more pronounced braking) and the one used by MotoGP (more elongated and rounded). They have taken the middle path with a step that is valid for both disciplines.

A new route that is already being tested with GT and LMP3 cars during the days of Monday and Tuesday that open February and that has received the first reactions on social networks. Some are not favorable, but those that count are those of experts such as Pedro de la Rosa, who gave his opinion on the curve reformed in situ: "It is faster and rounder. I like it and it increases the chances of overtaking a little, probably not at the entrance, where it will still be difficult, but at turns 11 and 12 ".
