Liverpool already have their new centrals: Kabak and Ben Davies

The first comes on loan from Schalke with a purchase option and the second from the Preston North End of the Championship, English Second Division.

The constant injuries of his centrals have forced Jürgen Klopp to go to the winter market in search of new defenses. The signings already have names and surnames. They are Ozan Kabak from Schalke and Ben Davies from Preston. Kabak was the last market operation and it comes from the German group transferred but with a purchase option of 25 million. The Turk was one of Klopp's choice to reinforce his back, very weakened. Schalke did not agree to sell it until they secured a replacement, which is Mustafi.

Davies, for his part, is 25 years old and has so far defended the Preston North End jersey in the Championship, the English second division. Liverpool pay 2 million pounds for the English defender, who had already agreed to leave Celtic next summer but who, in the interest of the 'reds', has reversed his decision. The club itself has already made its arrival official.

Without Van Dijk, without Joe Gomez, without Matip and with the emergencies of Henderson or Fabinho - now also injured - for the central position, Klopp has been forced to shoot two young footballers in recent weeks: Rhys Williams o Nat Phillips have played regularly for Liverpool this season.

The arrival of Ben Davies was an obligation on the defensive line for a team that wants to continue aspiring to the Premier League, despite having left many points in 2021. The young Sepp van den Berg will enter the operation and will go on loan to Preston until end of season.
