José Manuel Díaz, to shine with Delko in La Provenza

Jienne's cyclist José Manuel Díaz Gallego will begin his fifth season as a professional this Thursday at the Tour de La Provence (France) with the challenge of "continuing to grow" in the French Delko group, with which he will begin his second campaign after he will win in 2020 the fourth and last stage of the Tour of Rwanda.

Díaz, who previously played for two years in Team Israel and one in Voralberg in Austria, was hopeful that it will be a good campaign and told EFE that he is "excited to start the fifth season of professional with the aim of supporting team and by the way continue to progress, although with the logical reservations due to the health crisis that already in 2020 made the calendar change.Last season, in addition, he finished among the top twenty in the Spanish Championship that was played in the province of Jaén, in the Tour of Portugal and in the Villafranca de Ordizia Classic and was seen in the Paris-Nice, the last Event in which he competed before starting the suspensions and postponements in the calendar.

The Tour of Provence will run from this Thursday until Sunday, February 14 with the groups AG2R, Astana, Bahrain, Cofidis, Groupama, Ineos, Lotto, Movistar, Deceuninck, DSM, Qhubeka, l Trek, and UAE (World Tour) ; B&B Hotels, Arkéa, Delko and Total (Pro Team) and the continental ones St Michel-Auber93 and Xelliss.

In this sense, Díaz highlighted that it is a very important test in which the riders will have to ascend Mont Ventoux, one of the mountainous finishes of the Tour de France, and praised the participation of great cyclists.

Thus, Díaz referred to the presence of world champion Julian Alaphilippe, Tim Wellens, Egan Bernal, Michal Kwiatkowski, Enric Mas, Bauke Mollema, Aleksandr Vlasov, Alexey Lutsenko, Iván Ramiro Sosa, Felix Grosschartner, Jack Haig, Wout Poels and Warren Barguil. Once the test in the Provence region is over, the Jaenan will also run the Tour of the Maritime Alps on French territory, between February 19 and 21.
