Jan Solans and Citroën join forces for the 2021 season

The former junior world champion and the French brand are one step away from closing an agreement to run a program in Spain and the World Cup.

Change of scenery for Jan Solans. The former junior world champion is one step away from becoming a Citroën driver for the 2021 season. After his stint at Ford, with whom he won the junior title in 2019 and competed in some tests in the World Championship last year, the Matadepera driver leaves back the blue to now wear red. The last fringes remain to be polished, but everything is almost tied for the official announcement.

Solans will compete with a C3 Rally2 in the Spanish Championship and in two or three rounds of the World Championship. The objective is to add a new title in the National for the French brand, without neglecting the international trajectory. First, an attempt was made to close a complete program at the World Cup level, but the interest of the firm to defend its colors in Spain has prevailed at the time of deciding.

Given the health situation, the program is not completely closed, since the calendars do not stop undergoing changes, but the objective is that the start-up takes place in the first scheduled appointment of the Spanish Championship, which today is the Rally Sierra Morena de Córdoba, which must be held on the second weekend of April ... if the coronavirus allows it.
