Former Froome gregarious Stannard makes the leap as director

The Briton, double champion of the Het Nieuwsblad and former national champion, begins this journey after hanging up his bike last December.


Britain's Ian Stannard, one of the regular gregarious in his compatriot Chris Froome's successful career at Sky and Ineos, has become sporting director for continental-class Trinity Racing.

Retired a few months ago at the age of 33 due to rheumatoid arthritis, Stannard will continue to be linked to cycling as director of the British Trinity, where he will bring his experience after a long career on the road in the team of Bradley Wiggins, Chris Froome, Geraint Thomas and Egan Bernal, all of them winners of the Tour de France
