Discovery and Eurosport renew Giro rights until 2025

The communication group has announced this long-term agreement with RCS to have the broadcasting rights of the race, which can be followed on Eurosport, GCN and Discovery +.


Discovery has renewed the exclusive rights to broadcast the Giro d'Italia worldwide until at least 2025, after reaching a long-term agreement with the organizer of the Italian round, RCS Sport, according to a statement.In this way, Discovery will offer live and on-demand coverage of all the stages of the first grand tour by stages of the season, the next edition of which will be held from May 8 to 30, on Eurosport, Global Cycling Network (GCN) and discovery + .

The agreement also includes the issuance of other events on the UCI World Tour calendar and one-day classics in Italy such as the elite men's and women's Strade Bianche, the Tirreno-Adriatico, the Milan-Turin, the Great Piedmont and the Giro de Sicilia. Milan-San Remo and the Giro de Lombardia will be produced in their entirety to enjoy live and uninterrupted coverage for the first time.

The first UCI World Tour event of the 2021 season, the Tour of the United Arab Emirates, will also be broadcast exclusively through Discovery channels, which will add up to a total of 300 days of live men's and women's events, including 16 at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The agreement follows Eurosport's announcement that in 2021 it will broadcast a series of UCI world-class events, such as the Road, Track, Mountain, BMX, Urban and Cyclo-cross World Championships, as well as the conclusion of the World Cup of this last modality.
