Campazzo misses the final shot

The end of the game marked the same. The last play was improvised: Murray did not shoot, Porter did not move and the responsibility went to Facu.

It was not for Nikola Jokic or, above all, for Jamal Murray. The weight fell on Facu Campazzo on a night in which he was far from successful. On the one hand, he must be happy because his coach once again trusted him for the decisive moments and the teammates believed that he would make the final shot, on the other hand, he must be angry for missing that shot with which the contest between the Nuggets and the Wizards.

A tray from Neto and a pat from Lopez did not enter for DC to sentence the match and the turn was, with less than ten seconds left, for the locals. Murray went to the counter, with Beal trying to stop his escape to the rim, the Canadian heeled to the left and left room for Campazzo and Porter to position themselves on the other side, both on the line of three. None went to the basket and the ball, after a bad pass from Murray, ended up in the hands of a Campazzo who had to shoot when he saw that time was running out. Did not enter.

The Wizards pulled out of the Ball Arena a victory against one of the best in the opposing conference and without Davis Bertans in the lineup. Murray later justified himself on his social networks by dropping that the angle he had indicated that he should pass the ball and not play it himself in the last action, in which two points and not three were enough to take his team to extra time. The Nuggets have lost four of the last six games and the race continues in the West.

The Campazzo match did not have, which ended with 1/8 in shots and without being able to intimidate Bradley Beal too much (33 points) with his defense. Murray was correct, he scored 34, and Jokic did not have to put into practice 100% of his talent to keep his team in the fight, since Porter and even very secondary ones like Nnaji or Hartenstein fulfilled their role very well. It all ended, however, with the Wizards on top. Scott Brooks' men have only lost to the Clippers in the last week and a half, going from utter disaster to wanting to dream. Westbrook posted another triple-double.

The Wizards tried to limit Jokic with Garrison Matthews starting and more minutes from Robin Lopez, something they only partially accomplished. They also bet big with Hachimura to do damage on the inside, also working only partially. What they did maintain was the tone throughout the entire match. Powerful in attack, taking out the only two important advantages: in the second quarter, up to twelve; in the third quarter, seven.

The meeting was very equal and decided, to a coup, the lack of tact of some players who already last year tasted the honeys of the important games in the Florida bubble. The responsibility fell on Murray even though he tried to get rid of it, with Facu Campazzo as the scapegoat in the last play previously reviewed.
