Borja Mayoral is unstoppable

The Spaniard scored a goal (he already has nine, equaling his record) and an assist in Roma's win against Verona, which keeps the Giallorossi in third place.

Roma left the disastrous defeats against Lazio and Spezia behind with a resounding triumph against Juric's Verona, a very difficult rival that last day knocked Napoli down. After the lucky 4-3 league with Spezia, a 'vendetta' of the copera humiliation, this time the Giallorossi won convincingly, thanks also to an outstanding performance by Borja Mayoral. The Spaniard is taking the place Dzeko vacated after his Fonseca troubles, and continues to earn praise.

The Giallorossi built the victory in nine minutes, between 20 and 29 of the first half. despite having lost a key player like Smalling in the 11th minute, replaced by Kumbulla. The 1-0 came thanks to a header from Mancini in a corner, while the second goal was from Mkhitaryan to a pass from Borja Mayoral, who got rid of the rival goal and crossed for the Armenian. The former Madrid player, shortly afterwards, pushed Silvestri's rejection between sticks against a Pellegrini volley, adding his ninth goal since he arrived at Calcio and equaling his record in a season as a professional. His numbers are exceptional: with a goal scored every 114 minutes, many in Rome wonder if he should not continue to start as well if, as it seems, Dzeko will stay.

After having touched 4-0 several times, the Romanisti conceded 3-1, signed by the young Colley thanks to a cross from Bessa. The goal of honor woke up Verona, but Fonseca's side held on well and defended a victory that keeps them in third place in the standings, just ahead of their next rival, Juventus. On Saturday, against the Bianconeri, the capitalists will know how far they can go in this crazy league.
