Bernal and Thomas debut in 2021 at the Star of Bessèges

The two great leaders of the Ineos will compete from this Wednesday in the French event, where Vincenzo Nibali and Greg Van Avermaet will also participate.


Colombian Egan Bernal (Ineos), winner of the 2019 Tour de France, will return to competition this Wednesday at the Estrella de Bessèges, a test that runs until Sunday.

The 24-year-old cyclist from Zipaquirá, had planned to open the 2021 course in the Vuelta a la Comunitat Valenciana scheduled for February 3 and 7, but the postponement of the test for health reasons has forced the Ineos leader to vary his plans

Bernal will start on Wednesday at Bellegarde with his Welsh teammate Geraint Thomas, another Tour winner (2018), and on French soil he will test his form once he recovered from the back injury that forced him to retire from the Tour 2020.
