Zaragoza makes the loan of Peybernes official

The central defender, who will play on loan for the Aragonese team until the end of the season, has undergone the medical examination this afternoon and will be presented on Monday.

Real Zaragoza has just made official the transfer until the end of the season of the center-back Mathieu Peybernes, from Almería. The French player, 30 years old and 1.87 meters tall, arrived today in the Aragonese capital and once he had passed the medical examination, he signed his new contract. Tomorrow, Saturday, he will exercise under the orders of Juan Ignacio Martínez and his presentation will take place next Monday at La Romareda.

Peybernes, who was intended for half the Second Division, thus becomes Real Zaragoza's first winter reinforcement after René Román failed yesterday's perceptive medical examination. It is not the first time that the sports director Miguel Torrecilla takes over the services of the French center-back, since he already incorporated him on loan to Sporting de Gijón, from the French Lorient, in the 2018-19 season.

His performance in El Molinón was important and he ended up signing property for Almería, which last year gave him to Lugo. Trained in the lower categories of Sochaux, whose first team he joined in 2009, Peybernes has also played for Bastia and Lorient in his country, in addition to the Turkish Göztepe, and the Belgian KAS Eupen.

The arrival of Peybernes may mean the departure of Guitián, one of the seven players who were on the starting ramp of Real Zaragoza, together with Papu, already in Cypriot football, James, Raí, Nick, Larrazábal and, especially, the Slovenian Vuckic.

Torrecilla's intention is to sign one footballer per line in this winter market, although most of the economic effort will go to a center forward. In this sense, one of the objectives is Álex Alegría.
