Urán breaks his toe when tripping over his bed

"I broke my little toe against the tip of the bed," wrote the Colombian Urán on Instagram, adding: "Another fracture for my record."

The Colombian cyclist Rigoberto Urán (EF Education Nippo) fractured the little toe of his left foot when he tripped over his bed, the runner reported on social media on Monday. "I fractured my little toe on the tip of the bed," wrote Urán on Instagram, adding: "Another fracture for my record, but nothing stops us." The publication is accompanied by an X-ray showing the injury.

The runner, who is currently in his native Urrao, in the department of Antioquia, did not report whether the fracture implies any disability that prevents him from following the training plan he is developing for this year's season. Urán underwent surgery on November 4 to remove one of the plates that was placed on a clavicle, after a fall suffered in the 2019 Vuelta a España.The cyclist, runner-up in the Giro d'Italia in 2013 and 2014 and the Tour de France in 2017, announced on October 11 that he was ending his season considering that "it is time" to return to the operating room to remove a license plate. The climber, eighth in the 2020 Tour de France, spent three weeks hospitalized in Barcelona, where he underwent an operation that lasted seven hours, as he suffered a perforation of a lung, a fractured clavicle and shoulder blade.
