The cycling event 'Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana 1969' will be held again on January 24, after sixteen years of absence, with a route that will link the towns of La Nucía and València and will have anti-covid measures to guarantee the safety of all participants

The event, in which 20 teams from the Spanish and international peloton will participate, was presented this Tuesday at the Alicante Provincial Council by the Sports deputy, Bernabé Cano, together with the event's organizer and former professional cyclist, Antonio Molina . Cano has highlighted that the 'Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana 1969' will have a strict security protocol that includes measures such as the delimitation of spaces, the maintenance of social distance or the performance of PCR tests on all participants in the race.

The Sports deputy appreciated the support of the provincial institution in this type of tests that "promote sports practice and represent a good opportunity from the point of view of tourism promotion, economic return and media coverage." Molina appreciated that in difficult times cycling continues to attract tourism to the Levante area and recalled that many "national and international" teams carry out their concentrations in the Valencian Community.

The start of the race will take place from the Camilo Cano Sports City in La Nucía. The peloton must ascend the Coll de Rates, a second category port, on its Tárbena slope. The organization recalled that runners such as Domingo Perurena, Noël Dejonckheere, Mathieu Hermans, Sean Kelly, Laurent Jalabert, Mario Cipollini, Erik Zabel, Alesandro Petacchi and Oscar Freire have been some of the winners of the test, which marks the start of the season male professional in Europe.
