Sagan asks Van Aert to apologize after his incident on Tour

In an interview with Belgian media Het Nieuwsblad, the Slovak reiterated that he does not have to apologize to anyone for what happened on the 11th stage sprint in Poitiers.

The spike between Peter Sagan and Wout Van Aert continues after the incident that took place on the 11th stage of the Tour de France, when Sagan was disqualified for elbowing Van Aert in the middle of a sprint and Van Aert responded by giving him a comb on arrival.

In an interview with the Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad Sagan, he recalled that episode and reiterated that he should not apologize for what he did. "I don't think I have to apologize to anyone. These situations often happen in mass sprints. Everybody knows what those things can be like."

However, Sagan has asked Van Aert for an explanation for his words at the finish line when he said to the Slovak "Fuck you, idiot!", Visibly upset by Sagan's action. "After what you told me on that sprint, I think you should apologize. I thought about it five months ago and I'm still doing it now, but it doesn't keep me awake either."
