Nibali and Mollema will lead the Trek in the Giro and the Tour

The Italian rider and the Dutch rider will make a Giro-Tour double this season after the departure of Richie Porte. Giulio Ciccone will be the team leader in La Vuelta.

The Italian Vincenzo Nibali, one of the seven riders in history with the big three in his record, and the Dutch Bauke Mollema, will be the leaders of the Trek-Segafredo in the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France, as announced by the formation.

Nibali, 36, will return to the Giro in 2021, a race in which he has won twice (2013 and 2016), and then has planned the Tour de France, where he would start for the ninth time, with victory in 2014.

Mollema, another 34-year-old veteran, will come back strong after a rough 2020 as he had to retire from the Tour with a broken wrist. He will accompany his leader in the Giro and will be in Brest for his eleventh participation in the Tour.

The Trek Segafredo will also play an important trick this year, that of Giulio Ciccone. The Italian climber will join Nibali and Mollema with his sixth Giro d'Italia, an event in which he has won two stages and was proclaimed king of the mountain in 2019.

Ciccone will have the opportunity to lead the team in the Tour of Spain.

Jasper Stuyven and Mads Pedersen will lead the team in the classics. In 2020 they won the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Ghent Wevelgem, respectively. The two specialists will also be at the Tour de France.
