The Spanish Garbiñe Muguruza finalizes during these days her preparation in Melbourne to return to competition next week at the Yarra Valley Classic, where she will start as sixth seed.

The Australian Ashleigh Barty (1 WTA), the American Sofia Kenin (4), the Czechs Karolina Pliskova (6) and Petra Kvitova (7) and the American Serena Williams (9) also participate in this tournament.

The Spanish tennis player is training with the German Andrea Petkovic, with whom she will continue until Friday, the day she will be able to come out of quarantine and settle in the Crown Towers hotel in Melbourne, indicates her communication team.

This morning the players were divided into two lists: one for the Yarra Valley Classic and one for the Gippsland Troph. Barty was assigned to the Yarra Classic, and the Romanian Simona Halep to the Gippsland, from there they were drawn out of every two.

Both tournaments will receive the WTA 500 category and will be held at the Melbourne Park Tennis Center, home of the Australian Open. Next Friday there will be a draw for both teams, which will be 54 players each. The prizes in both tournaments will be $ 442,020.

Meanwhile, Garbiñe continues with his training within the quarantine and protocols set by the Australian government and Tennis Australia, which he hopes to leave on Friday to be able to lead a normal life in Melbourne from that same day.
