Isco finds an alternative

The Malaga player has participated in three of the last four games and the trend in his role is increasing due to the loss of Valverde and the departure of Odegaard.

A Isco has at least another life left in Madrid. Just two months after the man from Malaga told the club of his desire to go out in the winter market, the future of the campaign awaits him with new opportunities. In the field where the squad is leaner, the midfield, Valverde's injury and Odegaard's departure leave Isco as the only replacement (although without forgetting the castillista Blanco) of the indisputable trident formed by Modric, Casemiro and Kroos.

Amid the noise of his future, Isco closed 2020 with a last month and a half where his presence in the team was residual. Of the last 11 games, he only participated in five, in which he played 97 minutes. His last game as a starter before the Cup was at Mestalla on November 8. But now he has been entering into Zidane's plans and, with his ownership in Alcoy, he has intervened in three of the last four games, adding 126 minutes. In addition to the 98 'in the KO tournament, he played 15' in Pamplona and 13 'in Vitoria.

It was precisely in this section of last season that Isco began to gain prominence in the team. He had played against PSG and El Clásico, but the Super Cup was a turning point when Zidane opted for a new drawing with the team's five midfielders. Until confinement, Isco became important in all the key matches: derby, Clásico, the Champions League first leg against City (in which he scored the Madrid goal) ... 444 444

If Zidane insists and persists in his statements that he has all his players, with Isco in that declaration of intent he becomes even stronger. The Frenchman has previously confessed that, due to his qualities, Isco is the player with whom he most identifies. And he has not spared recent declarations of affection despite slights such as that of the Classic. "Isco is going to be important, he plays little lately, but he is punctual," said the coach in early December, when the player's future was up in the air.

The future must be another motivation for Isco. In two aspects: opt for Luis Enrique's call for the Eurocup and put himself back in the showcase if he decides to end his time at Real Madrid. The one from Arroyo de la Miel was a fixture in the Asturian's first calls, but he hasn't been with La Roja for a year and a half (three lists by Robert Moreno and as many by Luis Enrique). Five years ago he was left out of his first absolute European Championship (in 2013 he was the U21 champion) for a gray season in which he was, along with James, the object of criticism.

With regard to the market, the Seville that Lopetegui coaches would be an ideal destination. Asteasu's was a great supporter of him both in the senior team and in the lower categories (in Madrid they hardly had time to work together because in the brief stage of the coach the player suffered appendicitis). But to land there, a cache must be lowered that, with the depreciation it has suffered in recent months (it has lost two thirds of its market value in the last 18 months, until it is priced at 20 million euros by the specialized portal Transfermarkt) , has made him disappear from the radar of the greats of Europe who, at other times, were very aware of his intermittent situation in Madrid.
