Atlético will ask TAS for the precautionary suspension by Trippier and opens that path

The club responds immediately to the confirmation of the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee that ratified the sanction of the FA to the player.

The FIFA Appeal Committee has dismissed the appeal filed by Atlético de Madrid in the case involving Trippier. As a consequence, the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee approved on December 23, 2020, which extends the sanctions imposed on the player by the English FA, is confirmed to have worldwide effect. However, Atlético will respond immediately and as this newspaper has been able to confirm they will go to the TAS to exhaust all possibilities. First, he will request the precautionary suspension of the sanction and will prepare his appeal before the sports court. Atlético is going to go to the end, despite having received the notification from FIFA today, it believes that it is being harmed by something that the entity has not incurred.

A decisive footballer

Trippier, at 30, and with a contract until 2022, has become key for Simeone. He came from Tottenham with the complicated mission of making one of the historical ones in Simeone's stage forget: Juanfran. But he has responded. Trippier suffered this season in some meetings: Bayern, Celta ... but he always recovered. Last season he played 33 games, with 2,730 minutes and five assists. In this way, it is very important in the Argentine coach's plans and it will be a sensible loss. Eibar, Valencia, Cádiz, Celta, Granada, Levante (twice), Villarreal and the first leg against Chelsea are the games he will miss.
