Argentina's Vuelta a San Juan is suspended due to the pandemic

The organizing committee announced the cancellation of another of the key appointments at the beginning of the season due to the pandemic, as already happened with Down Under or Mallorca.

The 2021 cycling season continues to suffer from the effects of the pandemic. The Vuelta a San Juan, an Argentine appointment by stages of the UCI Pro Series category, announced this Monday that it will not hold its edition for this year scheduled for January 24 to 31. The American race, the most important on the continent, thus joins other tests at the beginning of the season that have been forced to suspend or move dates, such as the Tour Down Under or Cadel Evans in Australia, as well as the Spanish Challenge de Mallorca.

25 teams were scheduled to attend the event, four of them World Tour: Israel, in which Froome was going to make his debut with the formation, Cofidis, Bora and Deceuninck in which the last winner of the event plays , Remco Evenepoel. The organization made sure that the race will be held in 2022 and they are not afraid of losing the UCI Pro Series category.
