Araujo enters Koeman's list for the Super Cup

The young center-back, despite dragging an overload on his hamstrings, will be part of the expedition that travels to Córdoba. The youth Ilaix Moriba also goes. Brazilian Matheus falls.

Ronald Koeman, after consulting with the doctors and the player himself, decided to include Ronald Araújo in the squad for the semifinals of the Spanish Super Cup against Real Sociedad next Wednesday. It should be remembered that the young Uruguayan central defender had to withdraw from the warm-up during the game against Granada when he noticed some discomfort in the back of his right thigh. Subsequent tests diagnosed a minor injury, "an overload" in the biceps femoris in the right leg, but significant enough to have the player rest for a few days as a precaution. However, the evolution in these 48 hours has been so positive that Koeman has decided to include him on the squad list, although his presence in the starting eleven seems very complicated.

In fact, Koeman takes all the available players from the squad, with the exception of the Brazilian Matheus Fernandes, who is left out again by technical decision. It is clear that the technician is opening the doors for him to seek a loan.

Also on the list for the Super Cup is the subsidiary's midfielder, with a youth record still, Ilaix Moriba, who since leaving Carles Aleñá on loan to Getafe has entered the first team dynamics.

Clement Lenglet also returns, after being dropped against Granada due to suspension. Ansu Fati, Gerard Piqué, Sergi Roberto and Philippe Coutinho continue in the infirmary.

The complete list of players to play the semifinal of the Super Cup against Real Sociedad this Wednesday (9:00 p.m.) in Córdoba is made up of: Ter Stegen, Neto, Araújo, Alba, Junior, Pjanic, De Jong, Busquets, Dest, Umtiti , Pedri, Riqui Puig, Griezmann, Messi, Dembélé, Trincao, Braithwaite, Peña, Mingueza and Ilaix.
