Aíto returns to train Alba Berlin after overcoming COVID

The 74-year-old Spanish coach has recovered from the coronavirus that has kept him off the bench since last December 26.

Spanish coach Aíto García Reneses has returned to training this Monday to his team, the German Alba Berlin, three weeks after testing positive for coronavirus. Technician contagion was announced on December 26th.

"Thank you for your support," Garcia Reneses, 74, wrote in a Twitter message written in German. While the Madrid coach was out, he was replaced by his assistant, also Spanish Israel González.

The Berlin club, which will face Baskonia in the Euroleague next Friday, suffered the impact of the coronavirus pandemic in October when six players tested positive and had to go into quarantine, for which it was decided to postpone several Bundesliga matches.
