The Ineos budget in 2019 exceeded 50 million euros

The portal The Inner Ring reports that the squad led by Sir Dave Brailsford recorded an increase in its budget last season with the change of sponsor.

Ineos-Grenadiers is once again the great power of the peloton in terms of economic potential. The Inner Ring portal has collected the account balance of the British team, available in the United Kingdom's commercial register, which highlights the increase in the budget that the team had during the 2019 season.

The document shows how Tour Racing Limited, the parent company of Ineos, had a budget of 50,785 million euros during the 2019 season, increasing by more than eight million compared to the 2018 figures, when the Sky team at that time handled figures of 43 million euros.

This increase in the team's accounts is due to the entry as a sponsor last May of Ineos, the petrochemical company run by Jim Ratcliffe, one of the richest men in the United Kingdom.

The data is even more surprising since, according to The Inner Ring, the Ineos budget for 2019 was greater than the sum of the budgets of the three French teams present on the World Tour: Groupama-FDJ (19.1 million), AG2R -La Mondiale (16.6 million) and Cofidis (11.8 million euros) .

A complete success at an economic level that in 2019 also moved to the sporting level with the victory of Egan Bernal in the Tour de France but that this year is not being accompanied by the results in the great tours after Bernal's own abandonment in the Tour and Geraint Thomas due to a crash in the Giro d'Italia, and waiting for what happens in the next Tour of Spain (20 October - 8 November), the last opportunity for Ineos to seek a great return in 2020.
