Sevilla already manages to improve Jules Koundé's contract

The French defender has shown his commitment on and off the field after the offer from Manchester City. He's in a pretty low salary bracket right now.

Jules Koundé is currently with the French Under-21s and last Thursday he started in the 5-0 that the Bleus endorsed the weak Liechtenstein, a qualifying match for the final phase of the category. This Monday, the Gauls receive Slovakia in Strasbourg and it will be necessary to see if the Sevilla defender is part of the starting eleven again, as he has a lot of competition in the position.

Few of them like Jules, who already sounds to start playing with Didier Deschamps' absolute, deservedly based on his performance. After some busy final days of the market with the interest and the offer of Manchester City, Sevilla are considering improving Koundé's contract so that his salary is closer to his performance as one of the pillars of the team.

The salary of Jules is not in the first, not even in the second step of the squad and there they manage in Nervión to place him at least. The economic improvement would surely entail an increase in the clause of 80 million euros, which although enough still seems somewhat short for the projection of a player who, if he continues to progress, will become one of the best defenders in the world in a short time. With the duration of the contract there are fewer problems, since it is still until 2024, but it would not be ruled out to extend it a little more, one year as revealed by Muchodeporte.

The harmony with the player, very focused on Sevilla, and with his agent, Jonathan Kebe, is absolute, so there should be no problem sitting down as soon as the situation allows. The transfer market has just ended and sports director Monchi, by the way, is with some friends on a well-deserved vacation, making the Camino de Santiago.
