France, world gold in mixed relays with Spain tenth

Despite the fact that the Spanish team rounded the medal for several laps, they finally finished tenth. Italy and Switzerland completed the podium spots.


The French team won this Wednesday in the mixed team relay, the inaugural round of the mountain bike world championships that are held in Leogang (Austria), in which Spain ranked tenth. Italy and Switzerland completed the podium. The winners completed the course in 1h27: 34. Italy, at 1:35, and Switzerland, at 2:06, also took the podium. The Swiss had won the last three editions. The teams are made up of one runner and one runner from each category: elite, under-23 and junior, although some variations are allowed.

Olympic bronze Carlos Coloma, Alberto Barroso, Francesc Barber, Rocío del Alba, Nuria Bosch and Lucía Gómez formed the Spanish team, which came second and third in very harsh conditions, with constant rain.
