El Godó will be part of the Roland Garros Pro Series

In addition to the Barcelona Open, the agreement also includes the Argentina Open, Río Open, Open Parc Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and the Internationaux de Strasbourg.

The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell will be part of the Roland Garros Pro Series, an initiative launched this Wednesday by the French Tennis Federation (FFT), which links the Parisian Grand Slam with the best clay court tournaments around the world.

In this way, the FFT seeks to strengthen relationships with other high-level events on this surface, establishing greater collaboration with a common goal: to promote clay tennis around the world so that more people practice this sport on this historic surface .

Roland Garros, the only clay-court Grand Slam tournament, wants to take the season to the next level, with a strong commitment to some of the most prominent clay-court tournaments in the world. In addition to the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, the agreement also includes the Argentina Open (ATP 250), Río Open (ATP 500), Open Parc Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (ATP 250) and the Internationaux de Strasbourg (WTA International) .

"It is an extraordinary initiative of which we are delighted to be part as one of the historic ATP tournaments on this surface. This collaboration, in addition to promoting clay courts around the world, will allow us to share experiences, synergies and best practices with our partners that will benefit our sponsors and fans ", declared Xavier Pujol, CEO of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, on the initiative.

"With the Roland-Garros Pro Series, the FFT reaches a new goal in promoting clay tennis. With 165 clubs affiliated to the FFT in France for amateur tennis, we are now creating strong ties with professional tennis and completing our role as a world-class tournament on clay ", explained Bernard Giudicelli, president of the FFT.
