Casemiro, a Real Madrid player who this Friday will face the Brazilian team against Bolivia on the first day of the South American qualifiers for the Qatar 2020 World Cup, regretted that the game is played without an audience, but affirmed that "health comes first."

Brazil will host Bolivia in Sao Paulo in what will be the first match with empty stands for both teams, as a result of the rigid health security protocols adopted in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a virtual press conference broadcast this Friday by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), Casemiro emphasized the need to respect these protocols, since "it is a delicate moment for the world" and in particular for Brazil, which already exceeds the five million infections and adds almost 150,000 deaths from COVID-19.

"We have total happiness for playing soccer and I think that makes the Brazilian people happy as well, but always respecting security measures", because "we are an example and health is in the first place," said the soccer player. Bolivia will act as captain of the Brazilian team.

"Of course we wanted to play with the public, but there are protocols and there are lives at risk. So we have to adapt that. And as they say in Spain, that's what there is," he said.

Regarding the match, which will be the first for the national team in almost a year, Casemiro admitted that "Brazil is always the favorite", although he also stressed that "always with respect to the opponent" .

In this sense, he indicated that while the Bolivian team has been training for about 50 days, the Brazilian team barely met this week, for which he anticipated that there could be some "problems" of understanding between the players in the first moments.

However, he appreciated that despite a renewal process that has begun in the national team, the base of the team led by Adenor Leonardo Bacchi "Tite" is "the same" and the coach's ideas "are very clear" .

Casemiro appreciated the contribution that promising youngsters like Rodrygo, who plays with him at Real Madrid and will possibly be on the bench against Bolivia, can make.

"Rodrygo has an immense quality," said Casemiro, who did not forget Vinicius Júnior, another of his young Real Madrid teammates, who this time was not called up by Tite.

"Of course Vinicius wants to be in the national team, but I do not see him frustrated" by the absence in this call, but "with more desire to continue working" to be in the next, he said.

After the game with Bolivia, the Brazilian team will stay in Sao Paulo until Monday, when it will travel to Lima to play the next day against Peru, on the second day of the South American qualifiers for Qatar 2020.

In relation to that match, Casemiro assured that "like everyone else" it will be very complicated, both because of the "quality" of the Peruvian team and because of the fact of playing in Lima.

"Whenever you play with Peru it is difficult and, above all, when you play away from home," he declared.
