Cortina says goodbye to the classics after a scaphoid fracture

The Asturian cyclist from Bahrain-Merida was one of the most affected in the final crash at the GP Escalda and will not compete in the rest of the classics of this 2020.

Iván García Cortina will not be able to demonstrate his potential on the cobblestones of Flanders in this 2020 season. The Asturian cyclist says goodbye to the competition in the remainder of 2020 after the fall he suffered in the final sprint of the GP Escalda.

Cortina was one of the runners most affected in the rugged volata and the Asturian cyclist himself unveiled the medical report this Thursday through his social networks. "Finally, a scaphoid rupture and shoulder dislocation ... it seems that this year I am not running any classic," lamented the Asturian.

In this way, and after the cancellation of Paris-Roubaix, Cortina will not be able to compete this Sunday in the Tour of Flanders and not next day 21 in the La Panne Classic, two tests in which the Spanish cyclist expected to shine but that you will have to wait until 2021 to be able to compete in them again.
