Camavinga is the man

His performances this season (with Rennes and the French team) have loaded Zidane and Juni Calafat with reasons, who recommended his signing.

Camavinga-is-the-man

Camavinga's progression is unstoppable, one of the most surprising cases experienced in modern football, only comparable to the recent emergence of Mbappé. The 17-year-old is giving reasons to those who defend his signing at Real Madrid, mainly Zidane and the head of scouting, Juni Calafat. The latter, as AS exclusively reported, was in charge of establishing the first contacts with the footballer last summer. Camavinga became, first, the youngest player born in 2002 to make his debut in one of the five major leagues. He was only 16 years old. Then, in the youngest in history to score in 'Ligue 1' ... But there is more.

Those domestic records already fall short of the midfielder. Camavinga also shines with the world champion team from the hand of Deschamps, who has bet decisively on him. On September 8, he became the youngest player to wear the Les Bleus jersey at 17 years and 9 months. And it was on Wednesday, in the game against Ukraine, when he put the icing on the cake: third-earliest footballer to start for France, after Julien Verbrugghe, who was 16 years and 10 months in 1906, and Maurice Gastiger, who started with 17 years and 4 months in 1914; and second youngest to score only after the record that Maurice Gastiger himself achieved in 1914. Camavinga's against Ukraine was a great goal, a very intelligent foreshortening to score a Chilean half with his back to the goal.

It is logical that Madrid are closely following the evolution of the environment, which was an express request from Zidane. However, the financial crisis in the club, affected by the drop in income caused by the coronavirus, made it impossible for even Madrid to propose his signing this summer. A real disappointment for the young footballer, who had already made it clear to Madrid, through his agent Mousa Sissoko (the same one who handles the affairs of Barcelona's Dembelé) that he would have been delighted to wear white ...

When Sissokó learned that Madrid was not going to sign anyone this summer, he sent a message to Madrid: "My player is not going to renew, at least for now, but we cannot ensure that he will be available for Madrid next summer." It was a warning to sailors. Maybe a missed opportunity. There are other greats in Europe behind the revelation player, the most important, Juve and PSG, and the most prominent in the Premier. In Madrid now they begin to have the conviction that Camavinga is the man, the ideal reinforcement for the center of the field, but it is also evident that as the months go by and with the added showcase of the Champions League, it will be more difficult to sign him.

In the summer of 2021, in addition, Madrid has to undertake another fundamental strategic operation, the signing of Mbappé. And there is uncertainty as to whether the income will continue to fall, even more so while in Spain people cannot enter the stadiums. Camavinga ends his contract in 2022 and Rennes is trying with all their might to renew him. For now, the player placed that possibility on next January. The new sports director of the northwestern French club, Florian Maurice, said as soon as he arrived that "any team that wants Camavinga will have to pay 80 million." That they put a price on it, especially one so high, made the player's environment very bad, who in the past market estimated that it could go for 50-60 million ... Next summer will be in the last year of the contract, the ideal time to go good price ... unless its explosion is definitive in world football. Everything is unknown in your case.
