Bubble windows: Malaga wants to organize February 2021

After Valencia is announced as the venue for the November matches, Malaga aspires to the matches against Poland and Israel on February 18 and 21.

Once Valencia has been officially announced as the sole venue for the second qualifying Windows for the 2022 Eurobasket, the Spanish Basketball Federation hopes that Malaga will organize the third Windows, which will be played between February 18 and 21. Then, the world champion will face Poland and Israel in the last two days of the qualifying phase, to which she hopes to arrive already with the resolved passport for the Eurobasket.

It will not be easy for Malaga to be chosen. Israel, which already had the intention of organizing these Windows, will bid for them to be held in its country. However, if the good experience of the ACB bubble in the Windows of November is confirmed, the FEB would gain points to take the lead and organize them. The election could be even more exciting if FIBA and the Andalusian health authorities allow, if the situation improves, to open the door to the public, even if it is only in part of the capacity.

In the post-pandemic, Malaga has already successfully hosted the final phase of the National Futsal League in the same Martín Carpena (without public) and the Handball Queen's Cup in Alhaurín (with limited capacity). It was also one of the venues for the promotion phase to Second Division at the Ciudad de Málaga athletics stadium.
