The stage of the day: opportunity for sprinters

The 11th stage of the Tour begins the move to the central massif with a flat stage that can become another opportunity for sprinters and the fight for the green jersey.

The peloton begins its transfer to the Massif Central on Wednesday with the 167 km towards Poitiers. Surely another opportunity for sprinters because it is a flat course except for a fourth category level in the middle of the course. The arrival, with a long straight of 1.5 km, will measure the great names of the sprint present in this Tour de France. For now, Ewan and Bennett have already wet, while Van Aert's top speed has given him two stages and it will be necessary to see if he tries it in a day for pure specialists.

In this area, another attraction will be the fight for the green jersey. The Irishman Bennett saw it with 21 points of advantage over Peter Sagan, who so far has not proven to be in a point of form to fight for victories with other sprinters but whose quality and perseverance always make him an aspirant. The intermediate sprint is located in Les Grans Ajoncs, at kilometer 108 of the 168. The escape attempts and the number of runners who manage to leave will mark the points that the applicants are distributed.
