The fight between Jonathan Rea and Scott Redding is still open

North Irishman Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) arrives at the Catalan event as leader of the general classification with 36 points of advantage over Englishman Scott Redding (ARUBA.IT Racing-Ducati). Already more distant and 60 points behind Redding, in third position is the Turkish Toprak Razgatlioglu (PATA YAMAHA WorldSBK Official Team), followed, six points, by the British Chaz Davies (ARUBA.IT Racing - Ducati), Redding's teammate.

Dutchman Michael van der Mark, Razgatlioglu's teammate, only eight points behind Davies is in the battle for third place overall

Álvaro Bautista (Team HRC) is the first Spaniard, eighth, in the general classification and aspires to offer his best version on a track that he knows perfectly from his days in MotoGP. The Valencian Xavi Forés (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing), fourteenth in the general classification, in one that he knows very well, will try to enter the Top10.

The event will be held without the public and with all sanitary measures to guarantee the safety of the participants and organizers.

Technological novelty: the 5G

The great novelty, unveiled by the president of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Maria Teixidor, will be the dissemination of images thanks to the 5G project, pioneer in Catalonia in a sporting event, which consists of sending throughout the end of week of the video signal with 5G technology from two cameras located in the pit area of the Circuit.

Through the Sport3 channel and on TV3.cat, the Catalan Audiovisual Media Corporation will offer the transmission of WorldSBK races as never seen before, with multiple capture points through the latest generation mobile terminals, to show all the Championship excitement on and off the track, using 5G technology and completely innovative realization, from the cloud.

One of the cameras will allow you to live the 360º experience so that viewers can have an immersive experience.

Another camera will be articulated by a robotic arm that will control, remotely and with an end-to-end 5G connection, a patient from the ex-Guttman Institute with severely reduced mobility.

A good connoisseur of the motor world, Armando Folgado will work as a remote camera operator from the Agora room of the Institut Guttmann ('Fan Zone'), using an ocular iris position sensor that allows him to move the cursor on a screen specially designed by the IRI-UPC to control the camera.

Both cameras will send the signal in "streaming" through 5G to the YouTube channel of TV3, which can be accessed from any landline or mobile device.
