Second positive for Martín and he will be out again at Misano

The Madrid rider has tested positive again in the coronavirus tests this Wednesday and will miss the Emilia Romagna GP this coming weekend.

The Moto2 World Championship is very complicated for Jorge Martín. The Spanish rider has tested positive for coronavirus again, so he will not be in the next Emilia Romagna GP after missing the last San Marino GP at the Misano circuit. The Moto3 champion in 2018 is asymptomatic and will have to wait one more week to be able to return, coinciding with the home race in Montmeló.

With his second consecutive absence, the championship becomes difficult for Martín, who remains in fourth position 33 points behind the leader, Luca Marini. Valentino Rossi's brother won last weekend and, to make matters worse, Bezzecchi and Bastianini (third and second place in the World Cup respectively) completed the podium.

His team, Red Bull KTM Ajo, has confirmed that the young man from Madrid will not travel with the team and that this time he will have a replacement, contrary to the first meeting in Misano. The Austrian brand has chosen Mattia Passini to accompany Tetsuta Nagashima. The veteran pilot was without a team and was acting as a World Cup commentator for Sky Sports.

"I am very happy to be back on the track, especially with the Emilia Romagna GP, my home race. I am very sorry for what is happening to Jorge Martín. I hope he can return soon and in the meantime I will take good care of his motorcycle. I want to thank Red Bull KTM Ajo for giving me this opportunity, I am sure it will be a good weekend. I want to enjoy this race, do a professional job and try to take progressive steps forward. I will work hard to bring home a good result. " , Passini has expressed in a statement released by the team.
