Carlos Sainz satisfied with fourth place in free practice at the Russian GP, especially after an incident in the morning that left him with little time to shoot. "The track was dirtier than I expected in Free 1 and I did a spin that caused a lot of stress to the mechanics and engineers, that's why I apologize from here, although I have done it before. Without problems, we have recovered well for Free 2 and we went fast ".

"I'm happy with the car but there is still a lack, we can improve in the middle curves of the first and second sector. We have to keep looking for tenths to get to qualifying," says the Madrid native: "It's reasonable, we have to be positive. I missed a training and even with that we were in an acceptable situation in FP 2. We're worried about Renault and Racing Point, as always, but we can do a good job if a good qualifying comes out. " As for his good lap: "Always aggressive, you have to be, although so far I am finding a bit of understeer in the car." Better to touch the walls on Friday than on Saturday or Sunday.

The new wing was not mounted on his car, Lando Norris tested it and the engineers are now studying whether the improvement is great and it is worth it to be mounted on both cars from Saturday. The British rider is still not sure: "If it is better, much better, we must make sure not to break it. We will see tomorrow" .
