Morbidelli: "My career has been very short, but very intense"

"I just want to thank those who have allowed this, because it does not come only from me but from many people who have worked with me, VR46 among them, also Rossi," he says.

Morbidelli:-"My-career-has-been-very-short-but-very-intense"

Excited, but calm, and very satisfied to have done the race of his life. This is how Franco Morbidelli has expressed himself after achieving his first victory in MotoGP at the Misano GP.

-Congratulations. What can you say?

-It was perfect, it was a very, very good weekend, and the race even better. As I said yesterday, it was important to choose the right tire and I think we did a good job on this. We lacked a bit of experience with the middle (rear), but the truth is that it went very well in the race. Ramón (Forcada) has done an excellent job, he is a crack, he gave me a practically perfect bike to do this race.

-First victory in MotoGP and in Misano, at home ...

-It's incredible, it's a dump of emotions. The truth is that it is difficult to explain which of the emotions is greater, they are all positive. I have never made a podium in a home GP, and I have achieved it by winning a race in MotoGP. They are many, many emotions together.

-It has gone like clockwork, lap by lap, leading everything from the beginning. Did you expect it that way?

-At the beginning it was not easy, because I had Vale's pressure behind me, I saw the yellow flags moving a lot, and I knew he was behind me, pushing. And then I have seen that I have taken a small advantage, which has then increased. And from there in the last ten laps I have had a lot of time to think about many things, I have thought about my race, which has been so short and so fast, because only seven years ago I was racing here on this circuit, but in the Italian of STK. It was a very short race, but very intense. I just want to thank those who have allowed this, because it does not come only from me but from many people who have worked with me, VR46 among them, also OK. Thanks to all these people who are with me, that is why I was able to win this race today.

-What did you think when crossing the finish line?

-It is a moment of great emotion, it is difficult to explain, the brain goes very fast.
