Memphis Depay moves away from Barça and points to Milan

The Olympique Lyonnais Dutch striker could be a bargaining chip for Lucas Paqueta. Until Suarez comes out, Barcelona cannot sign him.

The signing of Memphis Depay by Barcelona has become a puzzle for the Blaugranas in recent days. When everyone took the Dutchman's arrival at the Camp Nou for granted, Jean-Michel Aulas, president of Olympique Lyon, said on social media that Bartomeu had told him that they had no money to sign the striker.

According to Sky Sports Italia, the future of Memphis Depay could be in Serie A. More specifically in Milan and as a bargaining chip in the signing of Lucas Paquetá. The former Flamengo player, who landed in Lombardy in 2019, is to the liking of the Lyon board and they could include Memphis in the operation to lower its cost.

Meanwhile, Barcelona cannot undertake the signing of the Dutch international until it certifies the departures of Luis Suárez and Vidal. The Uruguayan was in Italy yesterday and successfully passed his Italian exam to obtain European nationality, but his departure has yet to be finalized. Lyon need to draw up this season's squad as soon as possible and could intensify negotiations with Milan for the Memphis exchange with Paquetá.
