Maverick, Mir and Pol sign the Spanish triplet in Misano

Viñales took advantage of Bagnaia's fall at 7 from the end when he was leading, Joan rallied from 11th place and the KTM driver benefited from Quartararo's penalty.

The drought of Spanish MotoGP victories this season is over and the first triumph of this 2020 of those that will still come was also accompanied by a triplet of ours. And it is that Joan Mir and Pol Espagaró were the ones who won a podium place together with the winner, Maverick Viñales, who becomes the sixth different winner in the seven races held so far. Crazy, blessed MotoGP madness this year.

It seemed that the thrill of victory was over this time after six laps. It was the fault of Francesco Bagnaia, the great dominator of training, despite starting fifth from the grid, due to suspension, after being the fastest in Q2 and imposing his beastly pace in the race from his overtaking Maverick on lap six. From there, he rode solo to victory, but crashed seven laps from the end, at Turn 6, when he was leading well with a second ahead of Mack, who did not waste such a gift. The Italian had given him the pole the day before, for stepping on the green, and now the victory with that drag, although it is true that the Yamaha one did not stop putting some pressure on him at all times.

The Catalan concentrated to avoid making mistakes from there to the finish line, and crossed with a 2.4 advantage over Mir, who reached that invaluable second place, coming back from eleventh place. On his way, he benefited from the falls of Aleix, who took out Morbidelli in the first lap, Rossi in the second, Binder in the fourth and the aforementioned Bagnaia. He also helped Suzuki's the stopper he made during some Pol returns to Quartararo. When he got to them, the Mallorcan, as is usual for him, did not hesitate. First he hit the Yamaha with a tremendous ax, three laps from the end, in the change of direction of the second corner, as if it were simple and with a lot of decision. One lap later, the Spaniard got rid of the KTM and from there to second place without any further shocks.

From there the emotion was in the fight for third place. Quartararo crossed the finish line third, but a three-second penalty for stepping on the green returned that place to the young Espargaró, thus closing a Spanish triplet in MotoGP that had not occurred since last year, at Silverstone.

As far as the general is concerned, the very weak eighth of Dovizioso keeps him in front of the general, but now with only one point of advantage over Quartararo and Maverick and four over Mir, who definitively points in his second year to the fight for the title.

As for the rest of the Spanish, a pity the fall of Lecuona shortly after the end when he was sixth, great seventh for Álex Márquez, who had the pleasure of leading the warm up in the morning, unusual twelfth of Rins and retired due to the fall of Rabat.
