Marcos Acuña becomes the fifth signing of Sevilla

The Argentine international arrives to reinforce the left back after paying the Sevilla players 10 million to Sporting de Portugal and signs until 2024.

Sevilla made their fifth signing of the season official. The Seville team and Sporting de Portugal concluded the transfer of Argentine Marcos Acuña, who will arrive in Nervión to reinforce the left-handed side of Lopetegui's team. Sevilla will pay 10 million euros for the 28-year-old footballer, an amount that can be increased by two million more in the case of meeting a series of objectives. The Argentine has already passed the medical examination in Seville, signed until 2024 and will join the concentration shortly.

Although the priority to reinforce the left-handed side was Sergio Reguilón and the possibility of having him again if the market evolves as expected, Sevilla has accelerated the management of the signing of Acuña so that Lopetegui could count on two left-backs, the Argentine and Sergio Escudero, to prepare for the European Super Cup. Sevilla will face Bayern Munich in Budapest in ten days, so Acuña is expected shortly at the San Pedro del Pinatar camp.

With Acuña there are already five signings made by Sevilla this summer and 50 million invested in these transfers. And it is that the 10 million that will be paid to Sporting are added to the 40 that were added by Suso, Rakitic, Óscar and Bono. On the contrary, only six million have been entered from the transfer of Sergio Rico to PSG, so Seville has to make money to balance its salary mass and be able to go to the market with guarantees to reinforce the positions that are not yet closed.

Meanwhile, the team continues to train under Julen Lopetegui in intense double sessions before playing their first pre-season friendly tomorrow .
