Jon Aberasturi cedes lead to Australian Groves

The Spaniard was unable to keep the leader's yellow jersey after being overtaken by Australian Kaden Groves. Jakub Mareczko won again.

The Spanish Jon Aberasturi (Caja Rural) could not keep the yellow jersey of leader of the Tour of Hungary, after being surpassed this Monday in the standings by the Australian Kaden Groves (Michelton-Scott), who rose to the first place thanks to bonuses achieved at the finish line.

Aberasuri, still sore from the crash suffered on Sunday, could not get into the sprint for the stage victory, quite the opposite of Australia's Groves, who achieved a six-second bonus, after finishing second. A booty that allowed the oceanic, who started the day four seconds behind the Vitorian runner, snatch the yellow jersey from Aberasturi, who was relegated to second place two seconds behind Groves.

Where there were no changes was in the name of the winner of the stage, since the Italian Jakub Mareczko (CCC), chained his second consecutive victory this Monday, by winning the stage disputed between the towns of Karcag and Nyiregyhaza. Mareczko, who invested a time of 3h 48:53 to complete the 182 kilometers of the route, beat Australian Groves, second, and Norwegian Erlend Blikra (Uno-X), third.

The Italian will once again be one of the favorites to win in the fourth stage that will be held this Tuesday between Sarospatak and Kacincbarcika with a flat course of 180 kilometers .
