João Félix (20 years old) is going to start his second season at Atlético. The Portuguese arrived last summer from Benfica as the most expensive signing in rojiblanca history (127 million euros). He came with the difficult mission of making Griezmann forget after his departure to Barcelona and, although he left sparkles, he did not fully meet the expectations he had generated. In his first year under Simeone he played 36 games in all competitions, in which he scored nine goals (being the team's second top scorer after Morata) and gave three assists.

However, this has not prevented some clubs from appreciating what João can contribute and wanting to take over his services. One of them is Manchester United, which according to the 'Daily Star' media has the Atlético player on its agenda. Their main target is the Englishman from Borussia Dortmund, Jadon Sancho, but the inflexibility of the Germans means that the Mancunians are considering other options to reinforce their squad. To do this, they have drawn up a list in which three names stand out: Bale (Real Madrid), Douglas Costa (Juventus) and João.

It is not the first time that the Portuguese has been related to the 'red devils', since in April the alleged interest of those from Solskjaer in recruiting the Portuguese came to light. To achieve the goal of luring João to Old Trafford, United hope to have an ally: Jorge Mendes. The player representative was already an important part in the arrival of Bruno Fernandes to Manchester in January and they want him to mediate with the mattresses and with the player so that the Portuguese can pack his bags for England. But it will not be easy, since the footballer has a contract until 2026 and a termination clause of 300 million euros and the rojiblancos are counting on him for this season.

João's youth and the fact that he is considered to have had to go through a period of adaptation to a different (and more powerful) league make the club optimistic for the Portuguese's second season at Wanda Metropolitano. There are precedents that contribute to this positive idea, such as the fact that João improved Agüero's numbers in his first year as a rojiblanco. This campaign, the idea, a priori, of Simeone is to form a pair in attack with the center forward of the team, which will allow him to better exploit his qualities than on the wing, where he played in some sections during the past season.
