Granollers wins his third title of the year in doubles with Zeballos

Granollers, with the Argentine Zeballos as a couple, beat the French Chardy and Martin in the final in Rome. In 2020 they had already won in Buenos Aires and Rio.

The professional union between Marcel Granollers and Argentine Horacio Zeballos continues to bear fruit on the ATP doubles circuit. This Sunday, the best couple of the moment, with the permission of the numbers one Cabal and Farah, beat the French Jeremy Chardy and Febrice Martin 6-4, 5-7 and 10-8 in the final of the Masters 1,000 in Rome to lift his third title of the season, after those won in Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro.

A week ago they lost in the Kitzbühel trophy match against American Krajicec and Croatian Skugor and last year they won their first Masters 1,000 together in Montreal. Also in 2019 they were finalists of the US Open, where they fell to the aforementioned Cabal and Farah.

The conquered in Italy is the 21st doubles wound in the Granollers race and the 16th in the Zeballos race (it exceeds Lucas Arnold's 15 and equals the mark of Guillermo Vilas), who are now the number 4 couple in the ATP ranking. The Catalan had already triumphed in Rome, but with Marc López in 2012, while the Buenos Aires won Indian Wells along with Mektic.

Results of the day.
