French Prime Minister tests negative after being with Prudhomme on Tour

Jean Castex gave negative in the coronavirus test to which he was subjected after knowing the positive of Christian Prudhomme, with whom he coincided this weekend in the Tour.

The French Prime Minister Jean Castex has tested negative in the first coronavirus test he has undergone after the positive test of the Tour de France direct, Christian Prudhomme, was known this Tuesday, after carrying out the tests in the peloton of the Tour de France last Monday without any rider testing positive for the virus.

The test has been carried out on Castex after the Prime Minister went to see the eighth stage of the Tour de France arriving at Loudenvielle in the Pyrenees. There Castex was in contact with Christian Prudhomme and, after knowing the positive of the Tour skipper, he decided to undergo tests to rule out possible infections.

In spite of everything, Castex will undergo a new PCR in the next few days to completely rule out that he had contracted the virus despite being close to Prudhomme. As a preventive measure, the prime minister remains isolated and has participated in the ministerial meeting via videoconference.
